Designing a Quieter Café

Most café fit-outs reach for the same materials: reclaimed wood, filament bulbs, hand-lettered chalkboards. We wanted something that felt like ours.

The result leans into soft plaster, brushed brass, and low, warm lighting pooled over each table rather than flooded across the room. Acoustic felt panels — dyed to match the walls rather than left visibly 'acoustic' — cut the noise floor by nearly a third.

Quiet, we've found, is its own kind of hospitality.
